International Relations

Erasmus+ Programme

International Relations office at Brera Academy, coordinates the relations of the Academy all over the world and the organisation of the Erasmus+ programme, founded by the European Union.

Over the years, Brera Academy signed about 145 agreements, of which almost 130 in Europe and 15 around the world (including China, Korea, Kazakhstan and Japan).

The International Relations Office not only deals with exchanges for study and training, but also realizes real artistic exchanges. Through the realization of exhibitions and events, it is committed to compare linguistic and creative aspects of the various nations, bringing together in that way different cultures.

The ERASMUS+ programme allows students to spend a period of education and/or training abroad at those Universities/Academies with which Brera Academy has signed inter-institutional agreements within the European Union Countries.

A list of possible destinations are presented in the Partner List at the bottom of the page.

Participation is open to students of Brera Academy attending First and Second Level Degree courses.

Any disabled student who wish to apply can take advantage from special contributions added to the Erasmus grant.

In order to apply for an Erasmus+ mobility grant it is necessary to:

  • Be enrolled in Brera Academy and be up to date with the payment of taxes, fees etc.
  • Have a suitable level of proficiency in English or in the language of the host Country (online language courses will be made available by the European Union).
  • Not be a beneficiary of any other EU grant under mobility programmes in the same period.

Selections
A Commission will evaluate the applications by drawing up a ranking. The criteria adopted are as follows: the portfolio, an evaluation of the artistic and professional curriculum, the number of exams taken, the average of passed exams, assessment of English proficiency or the language of the chosen Country.
Students are required to contact the Erasmus office to find out about the results of the selections.

Length
Through the ERASMUS + program, Brera Academy students have the opportunity to spend a period of study and/or training, not less than 2 months and no longer than 12, at one of the Partner Institutions which, in possession of the ECHE Card, has signed a bilateral agreement with our Academy.

The application has to be presented for the following academic year and the study or traineeship period can be carried out starting from September 1st of the following year.

Erasmus Status
Students will be able to attend courses and take advantage from the facilities available at the host Institution without any additional enrollment fees. Students are also guaranteed that their period of study abroad is recognized through the transfer of their respective credits.
Most European Universities/Academies have adopted the European credit transfer system ECTS. For the recognition of the period of study abroad, it is essential to obtain 30 ECTS credits for a half-year and 60 ECTS credits for the entire year.
