INTRODUCTION WITH RESPECT TO THE 2021/2022 ACADEMIC YEAR
These procedures are subject to the current and future emergency provisions of the Italian Government and of the European Union regarding the prevention and containment of the COVID-19 virus epidemic.
The procedures for issuing these visas must be concluded by 30 November 2021, in order to allow the effective enrollment of international students and the subsequent payment of university fees, without prejudice to any future different indications from the Ministry for Universities and Research agreed with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, also on the basis of the evolution of the current pandemic situation.
The pre-enrollment application for the issue of visas to candidates of study courses at Accademia di Brera must be submitted using the UNIVERSITALY platform, according to the indications already communicated to all Italian universities.
The qualifications that can be assessed are those issued by the institutions of the national education system of the candidate's country of origin as described in the ENIC-NARIC networks (see Annexes 1 and 2), also in view of any exceptional measures adopted by governments.
The following procedures apply exclusively to international students that require an entry visa for Italy for long-term stays for the purposes of enrollment at higher education institutions, for residence permits and, only for the part relating to the recognition procedures for qualifications, who are holders of qualifications obtained abroad. As regards the procedures relating only to the issue of the entry visa and the relative residence permit, these procedures do not apply:
Italian candidates with a foreign qualification, from the European Union wherever resident and from outside the European Union duly resident in Italy, as per Art. 39, comma 5 of Legislative Decree n. 286 of 25.07.98, as modified by Art. 26 of Law n. 189 of 30 July 2002 “Modifications to the legislation on the subject of immigration and political asylum” gain access without quota contingents to university courses, if holding a qualification equivalent to the Italian one required and recognized as eligible according to the independent evaluation performed by the single higher education institution.
Candidates should present the enrollment request directly to the chosen higher education institution, according to the modality, terms and the requested documentation as established by each institution, and they accede under the same conditions extended to Italian citizens.
If you are an international student applying for a visa and live abroad, you will need to make a pre-enrollment and validation procedure, which precedes the subsequent visa application, entry test and enrollment phases, in order to access the Brera Academy of Fine Arts courses.

Following the preliminary evaluation, after you have received a notification from the Academy, you can register as a new student (not at this moment) on the Academy website, create your profile and register for the Entry Test by selecting the course you are interested in directly from your profile.
The Entry Test for admissions to the 2021/2022 academic year will be held online in the middle of September 2021 according to a calendar that will be published later.

Once you have checked the enrolment procedures, the fees to be paid and the deadlines, you have to register for the Entry Test for the same course chosen during the pre-enrolment application on UNIVERSITALY.
Admission to the five-year single-cycle course in Restoration.
The five-year second-level Academic Diploma in Restoration, which qualifies students for the profession of "Restorer of Cultural Heritage", is a limited-access course with local Entry Tests.
Differently from all other courses, if you wish to be admitted to the Restoration courses you have to participate to a call for application (Bando) planned to be published on the Brera Academy website by the middle of July.
Diploma Courses Enrolment
If you have passed the entrance test and have been ‘admitted’ in your online profile, you will have to proceed with enrollment according to the procedures and deadlines published on the web pages of the Secretariat.
