Tutorial e-learning teachers
Training smart & easy
The healthcare emergency has also made the Accademia di Brera find new innovative technological solutions in order not to compromise its training role.
Innovative training programmes that, once the crisis phase is over, will remain valuable and complementary resources to the essential real, tangibile and immanent relationship between students and the Accademia.
Thanks to the tutorial prepared by Bruno Aliprandi, the Chief Information Officer of the Accademia, you can get to grips with the basics and start using the Accademia’s B learning system.

Web Based Self Learning Courses
MODULES 1.0 + 2.0 + 7.0
Welcome, before starting A brief introduction is required
As informal as possible
We have tried to be as “informal” as possibile in preparing these courses. IT is a boring topic and self-learning courses- slow and pedantic by nature- certainly do not help. It would also have been quite cumbersome to make you take a compulsory course, where, 80% of what was being taught, you probably would have already known. In short , an unpleasant situation however you looked at it. However, web tools are at hand. Over the last couple of years there has been a tendency to develop witty, upbeat training tutorials. Simple products that aim to be quicker and as less cumbersome as possible. That is how the idea of 4e48 came about:make it easier on poor students to tackle tough topics. We hope to have made some progress there.
Our objective is not to teach but to integrate skills you already have
Another thing to know is that the educational objectives of the course are not really to teach computer science, but to ensure that all students have the appropriate skills to cover the Syllabus ECDL 5.0 in modules 1.2 and 7 as set down by the European Union. The difference lies in the fact that you most certainly already have part of the required skills and our task is simply to check them and integrate them when there is a lack of know-how.
Theoretical web based courses: quizzes and Wikipedia cross-references
Within these Syllabus modules there is theoretical as well as practical knowledge. For theoretical know-how we proceed in this way:the quiz related to the Syllabus set questions. If you answer correctly, you move on to the next question. If, however, you answer incorrectly, it proposes the Wikipedia link where the concept is explained. Once you have repeated the quiz, no longer making any mistakes, you know the subject matter at hand.
Practical web based Courses: focus entirely on things you don’t know how to do
For “practical expertise” it is slightly more difficult. For “practical expertise” it is slightly more difficult.
Practical expertise means knowing how to do an operation on a program inside an operating system. And that means, therefore, a truly infinite number of variations. We chose a version of Explorer, one of Windows, one of Word and so on. We knew this would not be to your liking but there was no other choice: we could not produce 20 different yet extremely similar tutorials just to be politically correct!
The tutorials work like this: a video shows you how to do a given operation (for example to copy and paste) then using a clickable screen you have to reproduce the steps. Here the limitation is immediately obvious: in Windows there are at least three different ways to do the same operation but the course accepts only one. To do otherwise would have meant making everything nine times longer and much more complicated. And at the end of the day our mission is that you know at least one way.
And finally, on top of that, as if the previous objections were not enough, any operating system becomes obsolete in a few years. The course was done using Microsoft Vista, the most common system at the time of creating the tutorials, but which already be out of date in a year’s time.
How should you approach the practical tutorials?
The answer is simple: focus entirely on things you don’t know how to do!
If you are able to use the copy and paste function on your operating system in one of three possible ways, then that really is enough, it is not necessary to know how to do so in the way we explain using Microsoft Vista.

Syllabus ECDL 5 Module 7.0 | Theory - Surfing the Web
How often can I attend the courses?
As often as you like.
If I don’t consult a course, does that mean I haven’t attended it?
No! Non There are absolutely no controls on attendance, or consulting and referencing activities.
What happens if I press “Go on “ without having chosen an answer?
The answer is considered incorrect.
After having given an incorrect response, and referring to Wikipedia why does the “Ok” button not work?
Because you have already answered incorrectly. You need to select “Go on”.
What percentage of correct answers should I consider as the passing grade?
The passing grade is 75% of correct answers, but here I would recommend at least 85%

Does the final exam include practical tests?
No. The final exam is only theoretical.
Do I obtain a grade or result from the practical courses?
No. They are only tutorials. Because we do not evaluate the learning of the practical aspects we have chosen to produce non-evaluative training courses.
Why is it that sometimes I select the correct point but nothing happens?
You need a little patience.
They work after a moment. In order to do them online, without installing any software, the courses were made in Flash.
So your computer has to make them work through the browser and it may take a little longer to react.
I know another way of doing the same operation. Why haven’t you considered it?
The reason is set out in the premise. We ensure that the student can learn at least one way to perform the operation that the Syllabus requires them to know.
Can I skip those operations I already know how to do?
Most certainly! The aim is precisely to allow the student to study only what he doesn’t know.
What should I do if something doesn’t work correctly?
Something in the courses doesn’t work properly. What should I do?These are the first versions of online courses and even despite our best efforts, it may happen that something goes wrong. Please report your findings to marconegroni@ababrera.it. If the findings are correct and it is possible to intervene, we will do so directly on the online course. If it is simply a question of understanding, we will write a FAQ.
When to take the exam?
The IT exam is a multiple choice test. It follows those questions covered in the theoretical part of the Syllabus, therefore when the number of errors you make in the quizzes are close to none, then you are ready to take the exam. To date the practical part of the Syllabus is not
We do not issue certificates.
Does the Accademia issue an ECDL certificate?
No. The Accademia does not issue any certification. In order to obtain the ECDL certificate the course must be repeated in an authorized ECDL center. If the Accademia took the steps to certify the course it would have to pay the Italian Certification Organization for every single exam, be it a pass or a fail, or make students pay for the test. The Accademia has decided then to limit itself to ministerial directives to ascertain and guarantee your training but not to certify it.
Theoretical Single Courses
Admission to Second Level Diploma Subject
Single courses allow access to the study of a subject which is in the Accademia’s Study Programmes, without being enrolled in a First or Second Level academic diploma course.
Available courses can be consulted on this site, in the Study programmes of all first and Second Level academic diploma courses: in the summary charts of the Study programmes the Single Courses that can be attended are identified by the letter “T” in the column “Type”.
In order to keep abreast of the latest professional developments or for reasons of cultural enhancement Italian and foreign citizens are admitted to follow the single course training and educational activities.
Enrolled students may attend classes, sit the related exams and obtain a certificate with the consequent attribution of course credits.
